So why should I stop with reviews today, I write them you read them and I hope you love them! But let’s get to Nova #20 because you know the Human Rocket is one of my favorite series. I have to say the addition of Ego the Living Planet to the Nova Corps was unforeseen, but I guess the Green lanterns have Mogo , so they might as well poke fun at or give the idea a shot in the Marvel Universe. Richard is astonished by this! Other than this shocking surprise this issue of Nova sort of falls flat as the drama/comedy series it has become. It’s certainly a transitional issue, to what I am not sure, but it hints at Nova hanging up his boots because of Worldmind’s actions. Read through Nova and enjoy the short break because you know the excitement is sure to come.

Nova #19 was a great read! Lanning and Abnett continue to evolve the character into a top tier contender in anyone’s fight. I love that Worldmind went and restarted the Nova Corps all by himself without Richard’s consent. Funny how he and Richard have the talk about it and Worldmind goes and deputizes the whole Pegasus Project staff, including Richard’s brother. Something really seems off about it all, but it is definitely interesting to say the least. Nova Prime has his Corps to lead and I have to know where he intends to take it next.
Just a little update for you guys and gals reading this blog! Nova has been separated from Worldmind who has decided because of Nova’s abrasive actions and decisions that it is best he remain the Pegasus Project’s computer mainframe. Worldmind is trying to awaken Wendell Vaughn who apparently is exhausted and remains in the quantum flask. We need to double up on the fan created sets for Versus System and get a quantum flask card! Guglio, Captainspud, Lebeau and other DC aficianado’s created a great set in the DCU release and they are working on a Final Crisis set, I believe it is a little too early to be creating cards based on a series that is midway through completion, with possible ramifications that will continue into the end of next year, but I am sure they are up to the task.
Anyway, Nova looks poised to police the Universe once again, but he is going to remain here on the Earth to help upright things. This is the first comic that gives us a snapshot of the world after the Secret Invasion, well actually Thor was. I’m looking and waiting Lanning and Abnett, surprise us and give it all you got you have definitely made Nova a favorite of mine.

Nova #18 was on the shelf last week and while it was a great issue I am damn near chomping at the bit to review the comics that dropped today. Be prepared tomorrow evening as Ultimatum has begun and you will not believe the scans and panels of delectable art and story that is the Ultimates universe. Anyway back to Nova which has been a great series thus far and continues to chomp at the bits securing its place on the shelves and in the hearts of readers alike. Abnett and Lanning definitely touched a lot of fans when they brought Darkhawk into the picture and I am sure many people were surprised by the revival of Quasar, but now we get the Worldmind back as well, and the appearance of some Nova Centurions who destroy a Skrull Warship to save the day?
There are a lot of comedic moments in this issue much like there have been in every Nova issue and I like everything that Nova has to offer to be truthful. This issue is really just an informative battle and a point to reinsert the character Worldmind back into the series, which was what I have been waiting for. The infighting between Nova and Worldmind is definitely my favorite part of the series, so I am happy we will get it back. Worldmind makes use of the Project Pegasus weapons within the storage bunker in order to prevail against the Skrull invasion, but it’s really the arrival of the Nova Centurions who turn the tide of the battle, only question is where did they come from and how?
By the way dnt you love the Quasar Smash panel on the third scan? You can get bigger views of these scans if you dont know just cick on the images! Have fun, Til tomorrow when Ultimatum Storms the pages of Darkseid Revenge! I'll probably be busy the rest of the weekend playing Gears of War 2.

I am going to throw this review out there early and hope it sticks to enough readers that its impact on the Marvel Universe is hopefully felt and people get to thinking about what it means to the Secret Invasion. There is no doubt that Abnett and Lanning have done for the Cosmos in the Marvel Universe, what Kirby did for the New Gods and all they have meant to the Final Crisis in DC. These guys are awesome.
Abnett and Lanning throw a fastball special that is sure to knock some readers out on their collective behinds, especially fans of old favorites like Darkhawk. But wait there is more, Super Skrull actually aided Nova and used him as a means to infiltrate the Skrull Armada. On top of all this Worldmind is reborn, but not as Worldmind, nope, instead its Quasar, Wendell Vaughn. I am still in shock as this was supposed to be a casualty of the Annihilation series, so as soon as Nova #18 comes out and I can make heads of tails, I’ll let you know. Other than this its just a standoff at Project Pegasus as the Skrulls infiltrate the facility.
