Welcome to Darkseid's Revenge. As the title states here you will be able to find information on VS System TCG and various Comic Book Reviews. I have been an avid "comic book guy" for the better part of my years, since i was 9 or 10. My uncle would come over and drop off copies of comics he picked up and i would devour them in short time waiting for the next batch.
My first comic was a Thor, can't remember what issue, but i remember he was fighting Loki, which was not rare. After that I was handed Ghost Rider, which really got me chomping at the bit as i loved the dark undertones used to tell his story. I remember reading Midnight Sons issues over and over again. I didn't actually come into the comic book world through the mainstream tried and true characters like Superman, Batman and the X-Men.
As a matter of fact, my exposure to these comic icons was limited to Saturday morning cartoons at the time. I was busy reading the pages of PITT, MAXX, Savage Dragon, WILDCATS and Moon Knight. My mom really wasn't happy about any of these titles my uncle was dropping into my lap as they all had one prevalent theme in common, violence and lots of it, but he was also nurturing my artistic nature and she wasn't about to deny me doodling or doing anything creative that didn't involve running the streets.
Hopefully in months to come i will be able to get some of my art up here.
To get back on track though, I finally scored some Superman, Batman and X-Men comics when i started doing my own collecting. Found a comic book shop close by and started putting that allowance to waste, ha-ha! But all that is what led me to the VS System world.
I got into TCG's in Junior High School, like all i played Magic. It was a good game as it nurtured my fantasy, but not the way comics had captivated me. Fast Forward to 2005 when i moved to Virginia and met Curtis aka T'CHalla as he is know throughout the VS Community and he pulled me away from my magic machinations and lured me in by creating me a Batman/Superman deck long before "Brains and Brawn" arrived on the scene. I was still pretty pissed that i wouldn't get to play Superman until turn 8, by which the game was usually over, but i always loved showing it to whomever was playing.
Here we are 2008 and i am still collecting VS System cards and playing when i can. Still just two tournaments under my belt and a handful of ideas i would have loved to piloted in competition. BlackBriar Thorn, Darkseid, Shadowpact, Good Guys or Great Guys, Superman All Star, Darkseid Knights and many more. Hopefully this year i will get out to some tournaments.
Either way i remained and supported the game in the background, playing a lot online and helping those like me who could not find a steady player base a place to play, through the use of MagicWorkstation. I've created quite a few sets and themes and hopefully will have that permanent server we have all been waiting for. Other than that I am here in this Versus Community to stay and promote the game i love to play when i need to get away from the girl or simply escape reality.
